Porto Customs House, Congress Center, Customs Building, Portugal

The Porto Customs House building, also known as the New Customs House, was built between 1860 and 1870 as a customs center for the city of Porto, Portugal. Designed by the French architect Jean FG Colson, it served to process goods arriving at the port, reflecting the importance of trade at the time. In the 20th century, after being deactivated as a customs house, the building was rehabilitated to become the Customs Congress and Exhibition Center, also housing the Museum of Transport and Communications. Today, the site is a space for cultural events, conferences, and exhibitions, representing a successful rehabilitation of industrial heritage in Porto.

João Paulo Carvalho

Specialist nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing, with a master's degree in Critical Care Nursing and enhanced specialized competence in Out-of-Hospital Emergency Care. Holds postgraduate degrees in Administration and Management of Health Units, Human Resources Management and Innovation, Quality Management and Health Auditing. Operates the Emergency Medical Response Vehicle (VMER) at the Santo António Local Health Unit and is a 2nd Class Firefighter Officer in the Valongo Volunteer Fire Department. Served as President of the Northern Regional Board of Directors of the Order of Nurses (2016-2023) and is currently Vice-President of the Order of Nurses.

Daniel Teixeira Coelho

Psychologist, licensed in the area of Deviant Behavior, with an Executive MBA from Porto Business School. He developed his professional activity in contexts of community intervention and social exclusion, having assumed Project Management roles at the Porto Social Foundation. Since 2016, he has dedicated himself to social innovation and the management of community intervention projects, being a Project Manager at Domus Social, EM. He has been a member of the National Board of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists since 2021, where he currently serves as Vice-President.

She holds a postgraduate degree in Evidence and Decision-Making in Health and the title of Expert in Immuno-Oncology from the University of Navarra. She is a doctoral candidate in Pathology and Molecular Genetics at ICBAS, is a member of several scientific and associative structures in the area of lung cancer, and teaches. Since June 2025, she has been Vice-President of the Northern Regional Council of the Portuguese Medical Association.
