Living Memory of the First Edition
A landmark event that reinforced the role of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in healthcare. More than 800 participants gathered at the Porto Customs House for two days of reflection and action on the future of health and well-being.
At the Porto Customs House, the dialogue was intense and constructive. Critical issues were addressed, such as the aging population, the shortage of professionals, access to innovation, and the role of technology as a facilitator—but never a substitute—for the human touch. There was discussion about how healthcare needs to move away from being merely reactive and become increasingly preventative, personalized, and integrated.
The discussion covered proximity models, the future of pharmacies as wellness hubs, ethics in data use, and the importance of new leadership in managing teams and organizations. Concrete examples of sustainable innovation, inspiring cases of active longevity, and profound reflections on the role of trust, empathy, and communication in transforming the sector were shared.
The Atlantic Health & Wellness Summit continues to establish itself as a space for convergence between traditionally separate areas. In 2024, the strength of a truly interdisciplinary approach was clear, where medicine, pharmacy, technology, science, management, and social economy intersected to co-create a more resilient ecosystem that is closer to those who truly matter: people.
The sense of community experienced during the event transcended the formal boundaries of each sector. Professionals from different backgrounds found space to share challenges, explore opportunities, and build bridges for future collaborations. From hallway conversations to more technical sessions, the atmosphere was marked by empathy, openness, and strategic vision.
This edition made it clear that structural change in the healthcare sector will only be possible with a solid alliance between scientific knowledge, practical innovation, and social commitment. More than just responding to trends, this community demonstrated a willingness to shape them—ethically, with vision, and with real and lasting impact.
