António Mário Leitão

Biographical Note

António Mário Leitão is a Limian born in the parish of Correlhã and graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Porto, who dedicated a large part of his life to associative volunteering in the cultural and youth fields.

As a student worker, he was an employee of the General Directorate of Contributions and Taxes, Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Nestlé.

After graduating, he was a Biology monitor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto, laboratory analyst and coordinator of the Blood Service at the District Hospital of Viana do Castelo, professor of Pharmacology and Medical Microbiology at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Viana do Castelo, and pharmacist of workshop director of a community pharmacy.

Alongside his family and professional life, he founded and directed clubs and cultural associations with notable social and youth impact, especially in the field of underwater activities and nature conservation, which benefited from his qualifications as a pilot-aviator, yachtmaster ocean and diving instructor.
